We have successfully trialled, our Ayurvedic Do-It-Yourself Programmes for Preconception and Postpartum and the Practitioner Certification for certain modules of postpartum. They are nearly ready for publication online.
C-Section deliveries are increasing, and we are aware that going through this majoroperation may often cause an initial lack of bonding between the baby and mother, the effect of which is reduced by the guidelines we offer.
On-line Master Classes Windows of Opportunity for Women and their Hormones.
From a request by one of our strong supporters, we have designed a series of 6 Masterclasses addressing Puberty, Menses, Fertility, Pregnancy, Postpartum and Menopause. We gave a free introductory webinar on the 18th March and the response was very encouraging.
We are coming from the Ayurvedic premise that women have a need to understand their hormonal systems. With knowledge and care right from the start of life, women can sail through their hormonal changing patterns successfully. Charitable work
We envisage that our online programmes will support the spreading of work of Ayurveda to areas which cannot afford to pay. Such as post-war torn countries and areas where no funding from governments is forthcoming.
One example is: In the UK, young single teenage girls (and their babies) have turned to drugs and alcohol in their misery of pregnancy giving birth without support. The babies are taken from them, depression sets in without proper Ayurvedic care and suicide rates are rising. (Recently learned from a UK professional working with these children)
Ukraine
In September last year, contact was made with a lady working in the Ukrainian support field to see how we could donate money we had raised for a natal unit at a hospital in her city. She became very interested in our practitioner training for Baby Massage and within 3 days she had 50 people wishing to enrol! We enrolled 12 for 12euros each and the course was up and running within a week! All went well until the power cuts happened. Now the course is on hold. We keep contact as best we can with them.
Lebanon
We have made initial contact with the Lebanon leader of worldwide La Leche Breast Feeding Organisation. Ann attended a meeting on Coping in Emergencies, it was powerful and heart breaking that many there said that coping with bombs was easier than earthquakes. We are hoping this liaison will develop into a partnership.
We have partnered with Sacred Window Studies for the past 3 years. Sharing information and appearing on each other’s webinars are some of the highlights of a symbiotic relationship. In the past 3 years, our regular followers have generously made donations to us when we really needed it. Neelam Toprani the owner of Sewanti in Vancouver has recently become a sponsor to AMI.
Summary
There are many activities we can do but our goal now is to consolidate the work we have done, increase the courses we have online and find the funding we need to promote AMI to the general-public. We wish to spread our wings to our worldwide family and bring more people into the fold.
Our vision from the inception of AMI, is to see Ayurvedic city teams working with young families in this area of health expertise.
With love and gratefulness for all the love and support we receive.
The AMI Team
