AMI GlobalGiving Report December 2022

By Ann Revington | Founder and Director

Hi, it has been an exceptional 3 months for AMI with many new openings and special situations to
circumnavigate. We have been busy settling into our latest Ayurvedic online course for Practitioner Certification I
Infant massage.

At the beginning of October, our biggest surprise was to find ourselves teaching our first online
course to a beautiful group of 10 Ukrainian women many of them health care professionals! It was a
big leap of faith on all sides with live sessions given through wonderful translators and all the course
material translated into a language with an alphabet so strange to our own! The enthusiasm shown
for the course has been very uplifting for us. Through wonderful donation support we were able to offer this as a free programme to the Ukrainians and we wish to develop this principle to anywhere where mothers, infants and their families are suffering.

Up until the beginning of November we were progressing steadily with our students and then came
the news that their powerplants were targets for destruction, so suddenly they were without light or
heat for 8-10 hours every day, so working on internet became difficult and time with power became
a priority for household jobs I have regular chats with the group leader whose husband and elder
son are exiled. She lives with her 6year old son on the 6 th floor of an apartment block. Yesterday she
told me ‘the shelling was strong again today at the thermal powerplant near our city and a city close
by has many residential victims. There is no water, heat or light all day long, but there is gas, thank
God’ and a few weeks back, ‘The most difficult thing is to wait and cold, we have 15C at home and no
dryer for shoes a trifle I know, but it’s hard work. The main thing is that we wake up every morning.
We will stand, we will survive.’

Today the temperature in Kiev is -7C but feels like -14C. Can you imagine what these poor souls are
going through?

AMI has been formed because we all believe in the sanctity of all life and peace on earth starts
within the family.

A very old Chinese proverb says
‘When there is harmony in the home there will be order in the nation. When there is order in the
nation there will be peace on earth’

Our hearts express the pain we all feel for those suffering not only in Ukraine but other parts of the
globe, such as Ethiopia and Iran who are also under great distress. We are coming to a time of year which promotes peace and goodwill to all life on earth. We pray this
madness will stop and sanity and harmony grow from the grass roots within all communities in this
wonderous world where have been given the privilege to be born.

Our AMI core team, Su, Wanda, Luis and myself, Ann, send love and greetings to all.
