Meet farmer Gebremeskel. He is a now a father of four children. He was quite shocked when his wife told him that she was pregnant with their fourth child. It worried him as his last harvest had failed and he was scrambling to feed his family. He took on the occasional daily labor job which provided enough to feed his family one meal a day. How was he going to feed another mouth? He was stressed and he when he watched his wife who was so thin even when her pregnancy progressed.
When it came time for delivery she was weak and the delivery didn't progressas expected and lasted for many hours before the baby finally arrived. Unfortunately his wife did not survive the delivery. Leaving him a widower with four children. If he had already problems feeding his family one meal a day, how could he afford buying tins of baby formula. He managed to beg a little bit of money from family and friends to buy one tin of formula which he used sparingly while he observed the deteriorating health of his new born baby.. He feared that it wouldn't be long before he would loose her.
A story we encounter on a regular basis and we are so thankful for your assistance which helps us to assist 50 babies every month. It takes the stress away from the family and it keeps the baby healthy. On behalf of their families a heartfelt thank you!
