Hi there,
I want to share a story that reflects the real impact of your support through our Backpacks of Dreams project.
At Padre Álvaro Lavín School, part of Hogar de Cristo’s educational network, young people who once felt excluded from the system are given a new opportunity to return, stay, and succeed. Many of them arrive after facing violence, poverty, mental health struggles, or early parenthood — experiences that made continuing school incredibly difficult.
What makes this school different isn´t only the education it provides, but the way it rescues, supports, and walks alongside each student. Teachers and staff actively reach out, rebuild trust, and create a space where students feel seen, respected, and capable of starting again.
Here in our ONG, school becomes more than a classroom. It becomes a place of belonging, second chances, and transformation — where young people can reconnect with learning and begin to imagine a future that once felt out of reach.

Because of you, this work is possible.
You are helping children and young people return to school, rebuild their confidence, and transform their lives through education.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Hogar de Cristo / Fundación Súmate
