Project Location: Poor and brick kiln–affected communities, Pakistan
Project Duration: 4 months

Executive Summary

Bags of Hope: Free School Bags for Poor Children aims to remove a simple but powerful barrier to education — the lack of a school bag and basic learning materials. Thousands of poor and brick kiln children attend school carrying their books in plastic bags or by hand, which affects their dignity, motivation, and participation in learning.

Moses Welfare Foundation will provide free school bags filled with essential supplies to vulnerable children, restoring confidence, improving attendance, and encouraging long-term engagement in education.

Problem Statement

Children in poor and brick kiln communities face severe material deprivation. Families struggling for daily survival cannot afford school bags or stationery. As a result:

  • Children attend school without proper supplies
  • They feel embarrassed and lose confidence
  • Motivation to attend school declines
  • Dropout rates increase
  • Many children return to labor instead of learning

This lack of basic resources keeps children trapped in poverty and illiteracy.

Project Objective

To provide free school bags filled with essential learning materials to poor and brick kiln children in order to promote school attendance, improve learning outcomes, and reduce dropout rates.

Project Description & Activities

The project will:

  • Identify and register beneficiary children
  • Procure durable school bags and learning supplies
  • Assemble kits including notebooks, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, and rulers
  • Distribute school bags through schools and community centers
  • Monitor attendance and engagement
  • Report transparently to donors and stakeholders

Expected Outcomes

  • Children receive school bags and learning supplies
  • Increased school attendance and motivation
  • Improved confidence and dignity among children
  • Better academic engagement and performance
  • Reduced dropout rates

Long-Term Impact

This project will support children to remain in school, escape child labor, and gain education that enables them to break the cycle of poverty. Educated children build stronger families, uplift communities, and contribute positively to national development.
