The Bahamas is one of the most climate-vulnerable nations in the world, yet its people continue to demonstrate resilience, creativity, and an unwavering drive to protect their islands. ORG is launching Bahamas Rising, a citizen-powered initiative to equip Bahamians, especially youth, women, Family Island communities, and marginalized groups, with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities to understand climate risks, advocate for climate justice, and shape policies that safeguard their future.
The Bahamas is one of the world's most climate-vulnerable SIDS, facing stronger storms, rising seas, and coastal loss. Yet many citizens lack clear, accessible climate information or tools to influence decisions. Women, youth, persons with disabilities, and Family Island residents are especially underrepresented. Without empowered communities, climate justice remains out of reach.
ORG will launch a nationwide program offering climate and social justice workshops, youth leadership training, advocacy tools, and accessible resources. A Roadshow will bring support to Family Islands. We help citizens and nonprofits understand risks, engage in policy, and lead local solutions-putting real power in the hands of those most affected.
This project will train 1,500 citizens, nonprofit, faith based and youth leaders to advocate for resilient, sustainable communities. Participants will influence policy, strengthen local nonprofits, and protect vulnerable ecosystems. By building an informed, connected network of climate-ready citizens, we help ensure no community in The Bahamas is left behind in the climate crisis.
