Thank you very much for your continuous support of the project for the past 11 academic years.
This project operates three after school learning centres and one upper primary school for the benefit of approximately 275 children in three slum locations in Guntur city.
BASS staff and volunteers are effectively continuing our Care and education program for the academic year 2022-23 and our upper primary school up to 7th class at Dasaripalem slum as a regular school. Total 120 children are attending daily with 5 teachers and 3 helpers and cooks working in this upper primary school. And also operating two evening learning centers at Swarna Bharathi nagar slum, more than 70 children are attending during the evening and two teachers are working here to educate children. And 80 children are attending the Lingayapalem Slum evening learning centre.
Slum children care and education project aims to provide quality education, nutritious meals, and a safe environment for slum children who are deprived of their basic rights and opportunities.
The project has achieved the following outcomes in the academic year 2022-23. 1Continuously attending 275 slum children in one school and three tuition centres. Provided daily classes in Maths, English, Science, Social Studies, and Moral Education. Conducted regular assessments and feedback sessions to monitor the learning progress of the students. Organized extracurricular activities such as sports, arts, music, yoga, and life skills training.
All children successfully promoted to further classes in formal schools for the next academic year 2023-24. And also Promoted awareness and advocacy on the importance of education for slum children among the parents and the community.
The New academic year 2023-24 already started and the children needs your support for the following requirements.
Education material: The project needs to procure new textbooks, notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, crayons, charts, maps, and other learning aids for the 150 slum children.
150 children needed school uniforms and school bags for slum upper primary school.
Operational costs: The project needs to cover the operational costs of running the slum school and tuition centres. This includes the salaries of the teachers and staff, rent of the premises, electricity and water bills, transportation expenses, maintenance charges, and contingency funds.
During this quarter up to July 2023 this project received US$ 1383 from all of your generous donations.
Therefore, we humbly request you to kindly support children to get new education material, uniforms and continue to run three after school slum learning centers. Please support again and opt for recurring donations for the new academic year 2023.
