Dear Friends and Donors,
Namaste! Greetings from the BASS Care and Education Project, India.
Thank you so much for your continued generous support over the past 12 years for our Care and Education Project in Guntur, dedicated to slum children. We are deeply grateful for your partnership in providing quality education to these deserving children.
Project Highlights (March 2025 - June 2025):
Our School & Learning Centers:
Our main Upper primary school in Dasaripalem serves 120 students (grades 1-7) with the support of 6 teachers, 3 helpers, and dedicated cooks.
Evening learning centers in Swarna Bharathi Nagar (70+ children) and Lingayapalem (80+ children) provide vital support with 2 teachers at each location.
Enriching Activities:
Our students successfully organized Science and Social exhibitions at our main school.
We organized a farewell party for our 7th-grade students.
Students participated in various cultural activities and games, fostering their overall development.
Regular academic assessments, including annual exams and tests, ensured their educational progress.
Regular health check-ups, monitoring height and weight, ensured the well-being of the children.
Academic Progress:
All students successfully passed their annual exams and have been promoted to the next grade, demonstrating significant improvement in their studies.
We are very grateful to inform you that 12 students successfully completed their 7th class at our main upper primary school and have been promoted to 8th grade. We celebrated their farewell with a special party. Some of their success stories are attached to this report.
We are also thrilled to share that one of our former students achieved the highest marks in 10th class at another high school, securing the first rank in the entire Mandal area. This is a testament to the strong foundation they received at our school.
As per the academic schedule, we provided a summer break from the last week of April to June 12th.
Short holidays were also given to the learning centers.
The new academic year commenced on June 12th, 2025.
New admissions are ongoing, with approximately 20 new students admitted so far.
Essential Support:
We continue to provide daily midday meals at the school and evening snacks at the learning centers, addressing crucial nutritional needs.
Our focus remains on delivering quality education in a safe and nurturing environment.
We have also proposed to provide transportation facilities for high school children who need to attend high school in other villages.
Impact:
Approximately 250 children benefit from our school and learning centers.
We provide essential nutrition and healthcare, addressing the unique challenges faced by these underprivileged children.
Financial Update & Urgent Needs:
We received US$1415 in donations this quarter.
Critical Needs for the New Academic Year (June 2025-26):
Educational materials, school uniforms, and bags for 150 students.
Operational costs (staff salaries, rent, utilities, transportation, and maintenance).
Transportation facilities for 7th-grade graduates attending high school in other villages.
Call to Action: Your continued support is vital. We humbly request your assistance in providing educational materials, uniforms, and covering operational costs. Your generosity will ensure these children have the opportunity to build a brighter future. Please consider a monthly donation.
Thank you for being a beacon of hope.
With sincere gratitude,
