We wanted to give you an update on where we stand on the truck fund. Thanks to your amazing generosity, the GlobalGiving project fund is at just over $5,000US and overall we are close to $10,000!
Our rescue vehicle stopped for the last time in September, which was terrible timing given the financial pressures we are suffering due to the Covid-19 travel restrictions. Having said that, it was no surprise. That poor old truck had done over 250,000 miles and I think it deserves to finally rest.
We are currently nursing a very old Grand Tiger truck that was donated to us a few years ago. We’ve been avoiding using it too much as it’s prone to dropping important things on journeys, like the tailpipe, all of its oil, the clutch… you know. But we don’t really have much choice right now, and those birds still need moving around from rescue, to vet visits, to release, not to mention supply runs.
So forgive us if we step up the funding drive somewhat and we would really appreciate your help with raising awareness. Please do share our social media links, our newsletter sign-up link, and the YouTube link to the fun charity song that was launched for us by Okra!
Another way to help us meet our goal faster is to host a fundraiser. It’s simple and an easy way to make a big difference. You’ll get a personal link through GlobalGiving that you can share on your social media and your followers can donate directly through that link. This is great to host in lieu of gifts for a birthday or holiday.
If you would like more information on hosting a fundraiser for BBR please don’t hesitate to contact Maryann at izzarelli@gmail.com. We are so grateful to Maryann who recently volunteered to join our fundraising team. She is doing an incredible job, and enjoying herself by all accounts! So please do get in touch with her and see how you can get involved too.
Thank you so much once again for your outstanding generosity and support. Keep on trucking!
Warm Regards,
Nikki & the BBR Team
