When Niveen’s husband passed away in 2022, her world turned upside down.
She left Cairo and returned to her family home—a village where opportunities for women are scarce and life often feels confined. Suddenly, she was a single mother of two young children, ages 6 and 9, trying to rebuild her life.
Niveen is educated—she finished high school, which is rare for women in her village. She has always believed in giving her children the best: a strong education, meaningful activities, and a future full of possibilities.
But when it came to receiving help from her local church or neighbors, she refused for nearly two years, because she did not want to feel labeled or pitied.
When she finally joined Coptic Orphans, she expected the usual charity model: someone handing her cash at the door. Instead, she received something revolutionary—a bank account and a debit card in her name.
For Niveen, this wasn’t just financial aid; it was dignity. Privacy. Control.
“I felt a sense of dignity and privacy. My dignity was preserved for me,” Niveen shared. “I was like any other woman going to withdraw money by myself. I felt like I was given power over my life and resources.”
With your support, mothers like Niveen no longer wait for handouts—they manage their own funds, make spending decisions, and gain financial management skills.
Monthly transfers vary based on family needs, but the choice is hers. No one knocks on her door or knows the amount.
Your support doesn’t just provide financial aid—it provides women like Niveen dignity, independence, and hope.
