When an M'Lop Tapang outreach worker first met Heng*, he was 15, had left school in Grade 4, and had no clear path ahead. With his family's support, he enrolled in motor repair training at our Vocational Training Center, where he also built the literacy, numeracy, and English he had missed, plus the soft skills that make a young person employable.
By early 2026 he had finished training and started an internship at a local repair shop. Today he earns a regular salary, has accommodation provided, and a clear path to advance.
"I never thought I could have a chance to learn vocational skills like this because I dropped out in Grade 4. My teachers were patient and helped me practice. Now I have a job. I am very happy that I can earn money and help my family."
Heng is one of many. In a recent survey of 50 graduates, 92% were employed, with earnings rising 40% as they gained experience. For a young person who has run out of options, a trade is a way back. Thank you for making it possible.
