Thank you for your help

Before and after joining MT's Baby Care Program
Before and after joining MT's Baby Care Program

Hello from a wet and rainy Sihanoukville, Cambodia.

Thank you once again for your donations that support the programs at M’Lop Tapang and strive to make better futures for disadvantaged and vulnerable Cambodian children and youth.

One of several programs that benefit from your generosity is M’Lop Tapang’s Baby Care Program at our main center.  The program provides care for children under the age of five years old that have been diagnosed with severe malnutrition or neglect.  A video overview of the program is included at the end of this report.

When Phearin* joined the Baby Care Program in mid-2024, at 18 months old, he only weighed 5.1 kg and was 63 cm tall. He showed signs of Kwashiorkor, a type of malnutrition caused by lack of protein intake, and had a chest infection, due to a weakened immune system.

While our Outreach team supported his family with various challenges, Phearin attended the program multiple times a week. There, he received nutrition, hygiene care, medical treatment, stimulation, and parental education. As a result, his swelling decreased, his chest infection cleared, and his weight has now increased to 9.8 kg. His progress is evident by the standard growth charts our teams routinely use and he looks so much happier and healthier!

Your support is not only helping to make better futures for the children and youth we work with, but also at times, literally helping to save lives!

A huge thank you from all of us here at M’Lop Tapang.
