Greetings!
As the school year in Puerto Rico comes to a close, I want, on behalf of all the children and youth of Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico to send you a big, big thank you for your support. Your donation went a long way, providing more than 6,000 hot meals.
In this and all our projects kids are the center and purpose of everything. Yet, I realize that I have not shared with you a very important component of the Hot Meals Program. You, together wih many generous funders, have been part of establishing one of the largest food programs in Puerto Rico.
With this, we become active participants in the economy of the Island. To make sure that no kid goes home hungry, we hired cooks and kitchen assistants, along with a program lead who ensures that meals are and are healthy, fun and delicious. The cooks are so creative that they have figured out a way to prepare vegetables that is attaractive and tasty, and kids are loving it!!!
We are also providing business to local food distributors who provide fresh and high-quality ingredients at very reasonable prices.
As you can see, your gift keeps on giving.
