Dear Friends,
over the past few months, we have taken important steps to strengthen the “Bibi&Bibo” nursery school in Kpossegan and prepare for the new school year. We are happy to share these updates with you and thank you for making this possible.
Between the end of April and the beginning of May, Aleimar carried out a monitoring mission in Benin. The visit brought together our local project coordinator, Aleimar’s Executive Director, our Project Manager, an Italian educational specialist, and a group of 10 volunteers. Together, they organized recreational and educational activities with both nursery school classes, creating joyful moments of play, creativity, and learning.
The mission also provided an important opportunity to meet with the local school staff and review the progress of the project. Together, we assessed the educational activities and the school meal program, discussed the results achieved, and planned the next school year to ensure that every child continues to receive quality care and education.
Following the volunteers’ visit, the training program for the nursery school teachers continued. An Italian trainer and a local educator worked side by side with the teaching staff to strengthen their educational skills and develop new learning activities that will be introduced during the next 2026–2027 school year. Investing in teachers means investing in the future of every child who attends the nursery school.
At the same time, the school staff and the parents’ association carried out an outreach campaign in Kpossegan and the surrounding villages. By meeting with traditional community leaders and local families, they promoted the importance of early childhood education and encouraged parents to enroll their children for the new school year starting in September.
As we prepare to welcome the children back to school, we have also identified some urgent maintenance needs. The rainy season, together with the strong Harmattan winds that affect the area every year, has damaged parts of the playground and the school building. Before the new school year begins, these repairs are essential to ensure that children can learn and play in a safe and welcoming environment. The total cost of this renovation is 600 euros / 690 USD.
With your support, we can complete these maintenance works and give every child the opportunity to start the new school year in a safe, stimulating, and caring space.
Thank you for standing with us and with the children of Kpossegan. Your generosity continues to make a lasting difference in their lives.
With gratitude,
The Aleimar Team
