Dear Persian Fallow Deer Supporters,
Our spring update is somewhat less positive than we had hoped. Two releases of 12 deer - primarily young males - were planned for this season. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing war in the Middle East, these releases have had to be postponed, and we are currently unable to schedule new dates. Once the security situation improves, we will reassess the situation and update you on our progress.
As part of the program, all released deer are fitted with solar-powered GPS tracking collars that transmit location data every 15 minutes, allowing us to closely monitor the movements of each individual. However, another challenge arising from the current security situation is the widespread signal interference and blocking, which has limited our ability to track the animals as effectively as usual. Our lead researcher from Tel Aviv University continues to monitor the project as closely as possible under these constraints.
We hope to share more positive news in our next update.
Thank you for your continued support.
