It is harsh existing below the poverty line in rural India with drought and famine affecting your livelihood. HIV spreads fast and goes undiagnosed, especially in areas where education rates are low. In these circumstances people with HIV don't have access to life saving medication needed. Our 25 acre farm allows 'untouchable' families to live together learning how to grow produce, raise cattle and live self sufficiently. Our produce also supports our ADOPT, EDUCATE & RESCUE projects nearby
35 million people are currently living with HIV/AIDS. India is the third highest affected country with 4 in 10 people being infected, many women & children are unwittingly infected. Since the first reported cases in 1981 advances in antiretroviral therapy (ART) have greatly reduced death and transmission rates. However the distribution of treatment and general knowledge of the virus still doesreach many rural Indians and there are still 22 million infected people who are not receiving ART.
The 'Hamlet of Courage' stands in 100 acres of beautiful land with a reservoir. It is ideal for rotating crops, cattle grazing and A housing and medical facility to give HIV families a home, a vocation and access to life saving medicines, while promoting sustainable living. When AIDS first his in the 1980's we offered 'death with dignity' as people fell in the dust. Now we are proud to promote 'life with dignity'. Our biofarm actively help our clients fight AIDS and enrich their lives.
