Many cancer patients in Ghana need blood transfusions during treatment, but access to safe and timely blood is limited. This project will support blood donations and transfusions, ensuring patients receive life-saving care when they need it most. By providing this support, patients can complete treatment, improve survival, and give hope to their families.
Cancer patients often require blood transfusions during chemotherapy, surgery, or due to disease-related anemia. In Ghana, blood shortages, limited blood banking facilities, and high costs prevent many patients from receiving timely transfusions. Without access to blood, patients risk severe complications, treatment interruptions, and preventable deaths.
This project will fund blood transfusions for low-income cancer patients, organize blood donation drives, and work with hospitals to improve blood availability. Patients will receive safe, compatible blood when needed, reducing treatment delays and improving recovery outcomes. The project will also raise community awareness about voluntary blood donation to help sustain a long-term blood supply.
Access to safe blood will save lives and reduce treatment abandonment for cancer patients in Ghana. Over time, this project will strengthen blood donation systems, increase community awareness, and ensure a more reliable supply of life-saving blood for patients in need.
