Book for all project focus is on building a mobile library facility on wheels in deprived communities within the Greater Accra and Eastern region of Ghana providing a rich supply of books and critical literacy support services to 500 children (orphans) traumatized by child neglect, abuse and extreme poverty.
There are currently over 1000 deprived individuals (orphans) in rural communities, Greater Accra & Eastern Region Ghana, who encounter a lot of challenges accessing quality education to improve their standard of life from our research. Their lack of access to quality educational materials affect them which reflects in their performance during the end of term examination. Orphanages lack the needed resources to provide for their educational needs. This has affected their English speaking fluency.
Mobile library facilities placed at vantage places and in schools will increase easy accessibility to all deprived orphans. Children will spend a lot of time with their books and also work on their assignments which will decrease the rate of social vices, reduce teenage pregnancy and also improve their English speaking fluency. Volunteers will facilitate the reading session with the deprived orphans and again assess their performance with a reading monitor. Teachers are also trained as well.
The project is targeting to educate 500 deprived children (orphans) empowering them to be more educated which will cause a ripple effect in their peers, homes and orphanages. This will help to improve their standard of living in the society, supporting them to be responsible and well -to-do individuals in the society, contributing their quota to national development. Teachers will also be trained in better ways of helping to educate children. This will ensure the sustainability of this project.
