Books and Education for Children in Rural Peru

Hello Everyone, 

We just wanted to update you on our project to seek out students who cannot otherwise access wonderful educational opportunities on their own. We provide these resouces to these children by meeting them in the villages where they reside. It is a difficult thought to imagine smart, young kids who are capable and simply don't have access to the types of opportunities at which they would excel. This due to the simple fact that the place where they grew up cannot provide them with the necessary tools to succeed. 

Since the pandemic, the education in rural Peru has fallen behind. Even with the subsidies from the national government, many families cannot pay for the resources required for their children to advance in school. This leads to a general discouragment in the pursuit of one's education. One goal of this project, that has been sucessful, in light of the Pandemic, is to instill students with a sense that learning could be pleasurable. This had been challenging, given about two years that children have been kept out of school. Yet, with the help of our skilled teachers, we are starting to see this sense of accomplishment and pride return. The confidence and familiarity the students get with their teachers is another achievement and is returning as well.
