Boost microbusinesses in Puerto Rico

Mayo marcó el fin del ciclo de la Incubadora Semillas auspiciado por el Municipio de Vega Baja. 

Luego de muchos meses de trabajo, terminaron 33 empresarios encaminados en sus negocios.

Los participantes lograron crear unas relaciones tan profundas que se forjaron alianzas de negocios entre ellos. Pudimos ver cómo nuestros principios de comunidad y solidaridad se hicieron vida durante estos meses. Agradecemos al Municipio de Vega Baja habernos dado la oportunidad de trabajar en su pueblo. 

Terminado este ciclo, empezamos la promoción de un nuevo ciclo virtual. Arrancamos a principios de junio con 30 participantes que se encuentran todos los sábados en la mañana a través de la plataforma Zoom. El encuentro virtual permite que puedan participar personas de pueblos distantes como Guayama y Ponce en el Sur, San Lorenzo, Gurabo y Caguas en el centro y Vega Baja, Hatillo y Camuy en el Norte, además de los de nuestro pueblo Arecibo. Como siempre, las ideas de negocio son variadas: restaurantes, bordados, costura, mercadeo, tutorías , entretenimiento, gimnasio adaptado, jardinería, entre otros. Este sábado pasado tuvimos la oportunidad de realizar un encuentro presencial en nuestras facilidades. Fue mucha la alegría de encontrarnos físicamente y conocernos mejor. La tecnología nos permitió conectar a las personas que no pudieron llegar al Centro.

The Semillas Incubator for Microbusinesses ended the cycle sponsored Vega Baja Municipality in May 2023. After months of hard work, 33 entrepreneurs finished the road to better businesses.  We were able to witness the deep relationships developed between them, and the alliances built between businesses. Our principles of community, and solidarity came to life during these workshops. We appreciate the opportunity given to us by the Vega Baja Municipality to work with them. 

As soon as we finished this cycle we began promoting a new virtual one. On June 3 we started with 30 participants that met every Saturday morning on the Zoom platform. The virtual meetings allows the participation of people from far away towns, such as: Guayana, and Ponce, on the South, San Lorenzo, Caguas, Gurabo on the center, and Vega Baja, Hatillo, and Camuy on the North, along with people from our town Arecibo. As always, there is a variety of business ideas: restaurants, embroidery, sewing, marketing,  tutoring, entertainment, adapted gym, gardening, among others. Last Saturday we had our first in person meeting  with the entrepreneurs in our Center. There was a lot of joy to be able to know each other better. Those who could not attend, connected with us via Zoom.
