Pandemic and corruption won't steal our future! The Bootcamp will train 200 young people facing unsafe conditions in Latin America. These people will learn social entrepreneurship and innovation tools to come up with innovative ideas to improve their current situation and create a multiplier effect in their communities. According to the International Labor Organization, in 2019 the region ended with 19.8% youth unemployment rate, and COVID-19 will increase this rate at least 4 points.
Many young people have the potential to become a local change-maker, but most of the time, they do not have the tools to exploit their capacities. Lack of resources is one of the main reasons why they cannot access to specialized content, and due to the pandemic, their hope for a better future is uncertain. Currently, they do not have opportunities to get an adequate job to generate income for themselves and their families.
We aim to empower the youth to become change-makers of their own reality and their community, reason why this program offers them access to technical tools, networks, specialized mentorships, funding sources, financial credits, and seed capital opportunities. Young people will learn how to use responsibly and invest money and available resources to create self-sustaining opportunities and explore productive options that could contribute to the local economy.
Participants must be able to identify possible opportunities to generate income. To achieve at least one feasible business idea for the community. Strategic alliances with local leaders and authorities: so we can replicate the project in other neighborhoods and align our intervention with the local government work plan. Involvement of other organization which supports youth initiatives.
