Mai Soli Foundation provides a hands-on education in entrepreneurship and business, as well as confidence building and leadership exercises in Southeast Asia. In doing so, we aim to break the cycles of child marriage and dependency that have plagued the region.
Mai Soli Foundation addresses the problem of gender inequality starting in Southeast Asia. The key manifestations of this issue in this region are child marriage and sex trafficking of young girls. By addressing the core issue through entrepreneurship and leadership education education, we provide young girls the confidence, strength, and tools necessary to actively remove themselves from life-derailing circumstances.
Mai Soli Foundation teaches hard and soft skills to young girls through entrepreneurship and business curricula, as well as leadership, confidence-building, and many other workshops. We operate on a teach-the-trainer method, sustainably training the girls' current teachers on our material. Furthermore, we connect the girls with local, university-enrolled women, whom they can view as role models on how to overcome gender inequality and rise to the top.
As we move into later phases success will be measured by the number of girls who operate successful businesses or demonstrate a tangible level of financial independence within a certain window of program completion. As program reach expands, we can also quantify success based on the dropout rates for young girls in cities we have a significant presence in. We are in the process of expanding to Nepal and the Bahamas, in simply one year of operations. We seek to change the mindset of a region.
