Breast Health Workshops in Ghana
By Selina Kwame | Project Director
Thanks to the support of our generous donors, the Breast Health Workshops in Ghana project has successfully reached numerous communities with critical education on breast health and early detection of breast cancer. During this reporting period, we conducted workshops that trained women on self-examination techniques, risk awareness, and the importance of regular screening.
These workshops empower women to take charge of their health, promote early diagnosis, and reduce fear and stigma surrounding breast cancer. By providing knowledge and practical skills, the project helps improve health outcomes and encourages timely medical care.
We are deeply grateful to our supporters for making these workshops possible and for helping women across Ghana protect their health.
Because knowledge is the first step toward prevention and survival.

Breast Health Workshops in Ghana
By Christopher Adjah | Project Leader
Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer deaths among women in Ghana. Many cases are diagnosed late simply because women lack awareness and access to proper education on breast health.
Our Breast Health Workshops aim to change this by:
Teaching women and girls how to perform self-exams
Raising awareness about the importance of early detection
Providing access to screening opportunities
Breaking the stigma and encouraging open conversations about breast health
With limited resources, we rely heavily on donations to organize these workshops across communities. Every small contribution helps us print educational materials, provide free screenings, and reach more women who may otherwise never get this information.
Together, we can save lives through awareness and early detection.

Breast Health Workshops in Ghana
By Christopher Adjah | Project Leader
We are excited to share some updates on the progress of our Breast Health Workshops in Ghana. Thanks to your generous support, we have made impactful strides in raising awareness and promoting early detection of breast cancer across communities in the Volta Region.
Key Highlights:
-
3 community workshops have been held so far, reaching over 250 women and girls with vital information on breast self-examinations and early warning signs of breast cancer.
-
We partnered with local nurses and health educators to facilitate the sessions and provide one-on-one counseling.
-
Free clinical breast screenings were offered during each workshop, with referrals made for further testing when necessary.
-
Educational materials in local languages were distributed to ensure the message reaches beyond our workshop venues.
These workshops are not just saving lives—they're changing mindsets. Community leaders and participants have shared how empowered they feel to take charge of their health and to spread awareness among their peers.
We’re currently planning our next round of workshops, aiming to expand to more rural areas where access to breast health education is limited.
Thank you for believing in our mission. Together, we’re creating a future where early detection becomes the norm, not the exception.
Warm regards,
The Adjah Cancer Support Ghana Team
