Dear donors,
We thank those who have already donated to this project. Your kindness is a step toward saving a species that plays an irreplaceable role in our environment. While we are grateful, the funds received so far are not enough for us to begin the breeding work.
Vultures are nature’s clean-up crew. They prevent the spread of deadly diseases such as anthrax and rabies by consuming animal remains before harmful bacteria can spread. Yet, Nigeria has seen a drastic decline in vulture populations over and 90% of some species have disappeared in the last three decades.
This breeding program will focus on establishing safe and controlled environments where vulture populations can recover. The work will also involve veterinary care, feeding, and eventual reintroduction into the wild. Without immediate intervention, the species could vanish completely from our skies.
The urgency is clear: fewer vultures mean more rotting carcasses, more disease outbreaks, and greater costs for human communities. With additional donations, we can secure breeding sites, veterinary staff, and proper facilities to begin this work.
We appeal to you to join us in this effort. Every donation adds strength to the fight against extinction and helps restore balance to our environment.
Sincerely,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
