Summary

The project will support 300 vulnerable women and girls who involved in brick making as their income generating activity .Most o f these vulnerable women and girls involved in brick making are widows and girls who do not have access to funds. The project will reduce poverty, ensure food security and improve nutritional status. The project will help women vulnerable to educate their children using the profits from the sales of the bricks.

Challenge

The challenges of poverty, hunger and nutrition are endemic. In Nyamwamba a huge number of women and girls, more than 65%, are living in extreme poverty. Lack of employment also has been a major problem that affects women at a high rate. The project seeks to reduce poverty, ensure food security and improve nutritional status. It will boost agricultural production and improving income generating opportunities of women in community through brick making.

Solution

The project will train women and girls income generating activities which will help them raise out of poverty and hunger.

Long-Term Impact

Project will provide women and girls with a reliable income generating activity and increase their revenues by selling bricks. The project will help women to pay school fees for their children.
