A Month of Graduations
The faces in these photos are not statistics. They are young Roma graduating from university over the last few weeks — despite the obstacles they and their families faced along the way. We walked that road together with them.
In May, we were proud to celebrate two remarkable graduates from the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG): Ani and Radko , both supported through TSA scholarships made possible by supporters like you. Ani completed a double major in Business Administration and Political Science & International Relations; Radko graduated in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics. Both were honoured at AUBG's awards ceremony — Ani for outstanding student leadership, Radko with two distinctions for his contribution to student governance and for the best student research paper. They are among 11 Roma students who have now successfully graduated from AUBG since TSA began supporting students there in 2015.
At the same time, 9 students in pedagogy from the fourth cohort of our Teacher in My Community program also graduated in May. To date, this initiative has supported over 110 participants; 20 have already graduated and 17 are now working in education. That number speaks for itself: this is not just academic achievement, it is real professional integration and role modelling at its purest.
Since its founding, TSA has supported over 5,400 students with scholarships. Many of them are now role models, mentors, and accomplished professionals — proof that the trend is real, even if still fragile.
We invite you to join in our pride on the occasion of these graduations. Behind every diploma is not just a determined young person — but the individuals and companies who believed in them, often before they fully believed in themselves. This is your celebration, too. Thank you!
What makes these journeys possible is not a single gift — it is the confidence that comes from knowing support will be there, month after month. When we can count on consistent funding, we can look a promising student in the eye and say: we've got you.
If this story moves you, please consider becoming a monthly supporter. It is the most powerful commitment you can make.
