Bring digital technology to 550 Colombian Farmers

Te agradecemos por seguir en contacto con nosotros y leer nuestro reporte; así como por tu generosa donación que nos impulsa para seguir llegando a más agricultores y continuar compliendo nuestra meta de ”Bring digital technology to 550 Colombian Farmers”... Esperamos que sigas creyendo en nuestro propósito y así poder llegar a más agricultores en las zonas rurales de Colombia.

A lo largo de estos nueve años de experiencia, gracias a tu ayuda, hemos podido contactar con muchas comunidades rurales en el territorio colombiano que se encuentran en condiciones de olvido, pobreza, y gran cantidad de retos. Sin embargo, es maravilloso ver cómo gracias a la propuesta con la que llegamos, las comunidades no solo han logrado interesantes resultados frente a los retos que tienen en su día a día, sino que les ha permitido fortalecer los vínculos dentro de sus integrantes.

Esta vez te tenemos una sorpresa!! ya que hemos podido llegar a una zona de la cual escuchamos mucho, pero de la cual desconocemos todo, y es al corazón de la AMAZONIA COLOMBIANA. Estamos felices de poder llegar a este territorio mágico y  hermoso, pero a la vez con grandes retos y dificultades. Aunque escuchamos mucho de la amazonia, solo al estar allí podemos entender no sólo la gran diversidad y riqueza ambiental que tiene este territorio, sino también los grandes desafíos que están pasando actualmente. 

Aquí no te podemos hablar solo de una persona en especial sino que lo hacemos desde la comunidad de Puerto Esperanza, con 30 personas de la comunidad  donde se encuentran sabedores y sabedoras, jóvenes, parteras, líderes y lideresas nos abrieron sus puertas, nos dieron el permiso para entrar en su territorio, nos han enseñado sus costumbres y lo más importante y también retador: su lengua, ya que buena parte de la comunidad no habla español sino lengua Tikuna. 

Con ellos desde un trabajo de co-creación, se han buscado soluciones a temas como el uso de plantas medicinales para nuevos fines; la transferencia de conocimiento de los sabedores (personas mayores de la comunidad) que conocen del tema de medicina, cultura y siembra entre otros, a las niños y jóvenes de la comunidad y nuevos productos relacionados con la prevención de enfermedades y para el aprovechamiento del fruto amazónico del Asaí.

Esta ha sido una experiencia maravillosa para el equipo, ya que ha sido mucho lo que nos han enseñado y estamos felices que la comunidad se ha motivado y ha participado de forma activa en cada una de las actividades que se han propuesto, y que aunque es algo nuevo para ellos, siempre están abiertos a seguir creando y construyendo soluciones a sus desafíos.

We hope that you and yours are doing well.

We thank you for keeping in touch with us and reading our report, as well as for your generous donation that encourages us to continue reaching more farmers and continue meeting our goal of "Bring digital technology to 550 Colombian Farmers"... We hope that you continue believing in our purpose and thus be able to reach more farmers in the rural areas in Colombia.

Thanks to your help, MásPorTIC has been able through these nine years to contact many rural communities in Colombian territory in conditions of neglect, poverty, and many challenges. However, it is lovely to see how, thanks to the proposal we came up with, the communities have not only achieved interesting results facing their own daily life challenges, but it has also allowed them to strengthen the ties within themselves.

This time, we have very good news for you! we have been able to reach an area about which we hear a lot but about which we do not know everything, and it is the heart of the COLOMBIAN AMAZON. We are happy to be able to reach this magical and beautiful territory, but at the same time with significant challenges and difficulties. Although we hear a lot about the Amazon, only by being there can we understand not only the great diversity and environmental wealth that this territory has but also the great challenges that its people and territory currently face.

Here we cannot only talk to you about a specific person, but we do it from the community of Puerto Esperanza, with 30 people from the community where there are knowledgeable men and women (sabedores y sabedoras), young people, midwives, leaders who opened their doors to us, they gave us the permission to enter their territory, they have taught us their customs and the most important and also challenging thing: their language, since a good part of the community does not speak Spanish but rather the Tikuna language.

Through co-creation work with them, solutions have been sought to issues such as the use of medicinal plants for new purposes; the transfer of knowledge from knowledgeable people (elderly people in the community) who know about medicine, culture and sowing, among others, to children and young people in the community and new products related to the prevention of diseases and for the usage of local treasures as the Amazonian fruit of Asaí.

This has been a wonderful experience for the team since they have taught us a lot. We are happy that the community has been motivated and has actively participated in each of the proposed activities. Although it is something new for them, they are always open to continuing to create and build solutions to their challenges.
