Tharparkar, Sindh, has long endured drought and extreme heat, leaving thousands without access to safe water. Generations of families have survived by walking miles daily for contaminated water, harming health and livelihoods. Through this project, Moses Welfare Foundation will install sustainable water pumps and wells to provide clean drinking water, restore dignity, and break the cycle of thirst and poverty in Tharparkar's remote villages.
In Tharparkar, Sindh, thousands of families suffer from severe water scarcity due to recurring droughts, extreme heat, and inadequate infrastructure. Most villagers rely on unsafe, contaminated wells located miles away from their homes. Every day, women and children walk long distances under the scorching sun to fetch small amounts of water, often unfit for drinking. This leads to waterborne diseases, malnutrition, and livestock deaths, pushing families deeper into poverty and despair.
The Moses Welfare Foundation will install community hand pumps and deep wells in the most drought-affected villages of Tharparkar. Each pump will provide families with easy access to clean and safe drinking water, reducing the need to walk long distances. Access to clean water will improve health, hygiene, and food security, while also enabling families to better for their livestock. Local volunteers will be trained in pump maintenance, ensuring long-term sustainability and community ownership.
Access to clean water will transform life in Tharparkar. Families will enjoy better health, reduced disease, and improved food security. Children will attend school instead of walking miles for water, and women will have time for income activities. Livestock will survive, strengthening local livelihoods. With community training and maintenance, each water source will ensure lasting hope, dignity, and self-reliance for generations to come.
