1. Background and Rationale
After years of armed conflict, many children are now returning to their villages in Masisi, Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. These communities have been destroyed by war, families have lost everything, and children are coming back to environments marked by extreme poverty, hunger, disease, and deep psychological trauma.
These children lack even the most basic necessities: clothing, school materials, access to health care, and a safe space to rebuild their lives. Without urgent support, they risk dropping out of school, falling into exploitation, and remaining trapped in a cycle of poverty and violence.
2. Project Objective
The goal of this project is to restore dignity, hope, and future opportunities for more than 300 war-affected children in Masisi by meeting their basic needs and supporting their reintegration into education and essential services.
