The 1000-Foot Falls, Central America's tallest waterfall in Belize, needs restoration to support conservation efforts. It is home to diverse species, including the Orange-breasted Falcon, and vital for the Roaring Creek watershed. Years of neglect have left its road and facilities in poor condition. Your support will restore access to the site, install solar power, and provide water systems, enabling our rangers to protect wildlife and habitats and enhance visitor experience.
The 1000-Foot Falls Natural Monument, Central America's largest waterfall, needs your help. Located in the Cayo District, it is a vital protected area, home to diverse species, including the near-threatened Orange-breasted Falcon, and plays a key role in the Roaring Creek watershed, providing clean water to downstream communities. Years of neglect have left its access road and buildings in poor condition and lacking water and electricity, making it difficult to carry out conservation efforts.
With your support, we aim to - Restore the access road to improve accessibility to the site for conservation efforts and to enhance visitor experience. - Install a solar power system, which will provide electricity for the ranger station and surrounding facilities. - Install a water system to collect and store rainwater, providing a sustainable water source for caretakers, rangers, and visitors.
Restoring the access road and amenities on site will allow our staff to safely access and stay on site to carry out vital conservation work such as safeguard critical habitats, like those of the near-threatened Orange-breasted Falcon and protect the Roaring Creek watershed. Together we can Bring Life back to the 1000-Foot Falls!
