Field Monitoring: Reaching the Families Most in Need in Northern Syria's Camps

By hasan sadk | Project leader

Dear Donor,

Amid the difficult humanitarian conditions facing thousands of families living in camps across northern Syria, the challenge is not only providing assistance—it is ensuring that support reaches those who need it most.

For this reason, direct field monitoring is a vital part of our humanitarian work. Before implementing any project or distribution, our field teams visit the camps, meet with families, assess their living conditions, and identify households facing the most severe hardships.

We look for families who may be unable to reach aid distribution points, households headed by widows or elderly individuals, families caring for children or orphans, people with disabilities, and families with little or no source of income or those living in extremely difficult shelter conditions.

Field monitoring means that assistance does not simply go to those who ask for it, but to those who genuinely need it.

Through field visits and continuous assessments, we can update household information, identify priorities, and direct limited resources toward the most vulnerable families. This also allows us to better understand the actual needs of each community—whether they require food, bread, financial assistance, orphan sponsorship, clothing, heating, or other essential support.

Most importantly, this approach strengthens transparency and accountability to our donors. Every form of assistance is provided following a process of identification and needs assessment, helping ensure that your donations are used as fairly and effectively as possible.

Behind every number in our reports is a family, a story, and a life that deserves to be seen and heard. That is why we do not want to simply distribute aid; we want to reach the right place, the right family, at the time when assistance matters most.

With your support, our field teams can continue reaching vulnerable families in the camps of northern Syria—where a single field visit can become the first step toward restoring a measure of security and dignity to a family struggling to survive.

Thank you for standing with families who are too often unseen and unheard. Your support helps us find them, reach them, and ensure that assistance reaches those who need it most.
