Inside a modest tent in Kafra Camp in northern Syria, Ruqayya lives with her three orphaned children after losing her husband. Since his passing, she has carried the full responsibility of caring for her children and trying to provide for their daily needs under extremely difficult humanitarian and living conditions.
Like thousands of widowed mothers living in displacement camps, Ruqayya faces daily challenges that begin with securing food and clothing and extend to healthcare, education, and other essential needs for her children. With no stable source of income, rising prices, and the harsh realities of camp life, humanitarian assistance has become a true lifeline for her family.
As part of our ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the most vulnerable families, our field team delivered financial assistance to Ruqayya in Kafra Camp, helping her provide basic necessities for her three orphaned children and easing part of the heavy burden she carries alone.
This assistance was not simply financial support—it was a message of solidarity, compassion, and standing beside a mother who continues to fight every day to protect her children and provide them with a more stable life despite the pain of loss and displacement.
Because of your generous contributions, we were able to reach this family and provide support that helps cover their essential needs, while giving her children a greater sense of safety, care, and hope.
Thank you for your generosity and compassion. Through your support, widowed mothers continue to stand strong, and orphaned children are given the chance to live with greater dignity, stability, and hope.
