Dear Donor
In a small tent pitched on muddy ground in one of the informal camps in the countryside of Souran, northern Syria, eight-year-old Rama lives with her parents and younger sister, Sama. There are no doors to shield them from the cold, no walls to protect them from the scorching sun or biting winds. Everything around them is fragile — even their daily bread.
In this place, stripped of the most basic necessities of life, a piece of bread has become a distant wish whispered in the prayers of a mother and the hunger of two little girls.
But thanks to your generous contributions, we were able this week to distribute fresh bread to Rama’s family, as part of our campaign to provide struggling families with the minimum of food dignity. This bread was not just food — it was warmth for their hearts, and a moment of peace for a mother burdened by her children’s hunger.
Rama smiled as she held the warm bread. Her mother kissed it before gently dividing it among her family — as if she were sharing life itself.
Your quick response and heartfelt donations were not just acts of charity; they were a lifeline — a difference between hunger and nourishment, despair and hope. And today, we carry to you the deep and sincere gratitude of this family, who found refuge in your humanity.
