In a cold tent in one of the camps in northern Aleppo, 8-year-old Maram lives a story far beyond her age.
She is the only survivor of her family after a missile strike hit them during their displacement years ago.
Maram did not just lose her home… she lost her mother, her father, and everyone who once gave her a sense of safety.
A kind but very poor family took her in out of mercy, despite struggling to meet their own basic needs. Maram grew up feeling the weight of her presence and the emptiness in her small heart.
