The project aims to enrol 70-100 out of school children of Sujawal District providing them with basic facilities of the washroom, solar panel, furniture, playground and a mini-library. One room school has been built already by self help, a teacher is also there. The location identified is the most flood-affected area in 1999, 2010 as well as the current rain. approximately 90% of the residents of the village are below the poverty line and uneducated; thats why they want to educate their kids.
There was no school in the area. The only graduate from the area has been advocating and he has been successful in constructing one-room school with a teacher. Most of the villagers are below the poverty line and uneducated. So they are not in the position to build the school by their own.
The school building already exists; the teacher is also there, but the basic facilities are missing and girls cant join the school specially because of the washrooms non-availability. Availability of furniture, playground, washroom, and the library will attract the other out of school kids as well to come into the school.
Once the school has the basic facilities, the contact person will apply for the Government ownership and it will be maintained by the villagers and the teacher called the school management committee. The government will start giving it a small fund for maintenance. It cant be applied with the lack of basic facilities, which require one-time funding.
