Thanks for your support this year.
We held a wonderful event in a new Community building this year.
It was to celebrate the diverse food culture of Brixton with a 'Patties, Pasties and Empanadas' afternoon. We celebrated culture in style supported by a wonderful poet called David Neita who recalled his experiences as a poet and then entertained us with some choice ones. As our venue was inside, in the cold weather, we were able to set out arts and crafts, a writing table and people learnt how to make their own Patties - all using surplus food. Families and friends gathered together, meeting and making new networks. We must have made 300 patties by the end of the day!
Lots of Poems were written and you can see them here: https://beenriched.wordpress.com.
It really brought home to us the need to have a permanent place for all people to come to, especially in the winter.
Our update is that we've found a few possible homes, but nothing is confirmed and it's all subject to us meeting our fundraising goal - So thank you if you've donated. Please tell your family and friends or consider making a recurring donation for us to get a permanent home. Together we will get there!
