BPK runs on donations and the good will of people. We also work with corporate companies who volunter their time and expertise to help us achieve our goals.
Last month we had the luck to work with some employess of Marks and Spencer, who helped us to organise our non-perishable donations and spruced up the kicthen bike sp that we can use it over the summer.
Fresh food experts from M&S travelled for 1.5 hrs to the BPK garage to meet with the Remakery, local carpenters who were supporting the renovation. Josh from BPK met them and gave them an overview of our project, emphasising the importance of a mobile kitchen which delivers cooking lessons for free to the very disadvantaged youth in the area. After this Mark and Orsetta, two carpenters and builders helped the team of 6 get their hands dirty by clearing the garage, building some shelves and repainting the kitchen bike, so that it looks super!
We are so grateful for their help as it means that we can use our time providing more outreach to peope in need of a meal or some company. It also means we are able to deliver more cooking lessons to kids that need it on our bike.
Our Kitchen is your kitchen
