Every Child Deserves a Seat in the Classroom

One of the greatest challenges facing many rural schools in Uganda is the shortage of adequate classroom space. As enrollment continues to increase, schools are forced to accommodate far more students than their classrooms were designed for. In some schools, children share desks with several classmates, while others sit on the floor throughout the school day. These conditions make learning difficult and limit the ability of teachers to deliver quality education.

Development Alert remains committed to changing this reality through our project to build six classrooms for rural schools. Every new classroom will provide more children with a safe and comfortable place to learn. With reduced overcrowding, teachers will be able to interact more effectively with students, monitor their progress, and create engaging lessons that encourage participation.

Beyond improving academic performance, additional classrooms will help restore children's dignity. Every learner deserves a seat, enough personal space to concentrate, and an environment where they feel respected and valued. These improvements also strengthen children's motivation to attend school regularly and remain committed to their education.
