Bedding Needed For 104 Orphan Girls South Sudan

The Good News is the 52 bunk beds have been completed by a local South Sudan carpenter! Thank you to all our great donors who have so generously contributed to this much needed request.

 The two newly constructed dormitories and the104 girls at the only all girls boarding school in the region of Konbeek, Jonglei State are patiently waiting to have them delivered after the roads are passable. The challenge is the seasonal rains and flooding in South Sudan at this time of year. Access to the only all girls boarding school in the region is not possible due to the poor road infrastructure in South Sudan. The roads are impassable with flooding waters and the bunk beds will not be delivered until the end of the rains around early November.

 The mattresses have been ordered, but with the impassibility of the road infrastructure in South Sudan, they too are not able to get delivered until early November as well.

 All you generous donors are making a dream come true for the 104 girls!  You have helped make it possible for the girls to now have two new dormitories with bunk beds and bedding ! But we still need your help!  The girls are in need of sheets, blankets and pillows to complete the package, allowing them a safe sleeping place while they are in school and allowing them to stay on the school compound to complete their studies.

 We are so excited and proud to announce the first group of girls are completing their primary education this year by graduating this Fall in a country where only 1% finish primary school!  Many of the girls plan on continuing onto secondary school where in South Sudan, less than 1% complete their secondary education.
