It has been 1 year and 7 months since the earthquake of April 2016 shook the lives of thousands on the Ecuadorian coast. As more and more earthquakes and natural disasters hit the Americas, we are reminded of how grateful we are that more and more families are safe and being placed into permanent homes in Ecuador.
Thanks to your support, Luis and Evelina and their family have transitioned into a beautiful new home where they can build their lives and futures together. After so much time without a place to call home, they are now comforted by 4 walls, a front door, windows, and a welcome mat where dreams will be made.
We are excited to announce that thanks to all of you and the generous GlobalGiving community, Hearts of Gold has been gifted a $10,000 grant that will be distributed to support 4 families from Proyecto Saman! Four families will resolve their living situation - two receiving new homes, and two receiving critical home repairs that will make their homes livable again.
Thank you for believing in Hearts of Gold, allowing us to put your hard earned money to a valuable cause. We cannot wait to share with you the photos and stories of joy when these four earthquake victim families transition to a new chapter of their lives. Stay tuned!
We hope that you can join us this #GivingTuesday, Tuesday November 26 as we act #HeartToHeart and prepare even more impactful, life-changing projects 2018! We will be competing for stellar bonus prizes on the GlobalGiving platform, along with a generous $2,000 in matching from the President of our Board, Natasha Verkley. Keep your eyes out for #GivingTuesday starting at 12AM, Tuesday November 26.
