Development Alert has supported the planting of more than 14,000 trees as part of efforts to restore degraded areas and encourage communities to protect their natural environment.

Tree planting provides important long-term benefits. Trees can help protect soil from erosion, support biodiversity, provide shade, improve local ecosystems, and contribute to climate resilience. Fruit trees can also provide nutritious food and potential future income for families.

By involving the next generation, we are helping develop young environmental champions who can carry conservation messages into their homes and communities.

Community members are also encouraged to care for newly planted trees and protect them from destruction.

For families living far from health facilities, transportation costs and distance can create major barriers to timely medical attention. Some people delay seeking care until an illness becomes more serious.

Through healthcare outreach, Development Alert supports communities with basic health consultations, screening, health education, referrals, and guidance on disease prevention. Particular attention is given to vulnerable people, including children, women, elderly people, and low-income households.

Our health education activities also promote hygiene, sanitation, nutrition, disease prevention, and early healthcare seeking.

For many residents, receiving basic healthcare closer to home reduces both financial and logistical barriers. A simple consultation can provide reassurance, identify a health concern early, or connect a patient with appropriate services.
