Dear Donor,
Thanks to your generous support, Development Alert was able to provide practical assistance to young people who have trained in tailoring but lacked the equipment and materials needed to begin earning an income.
Vocational training can provide valuable skills, but without tools such as sewing machines and start-up materials, many graduates remain unable to turn their knowledge into employment or entrepreneurship. Your generosity is helping close that gap.
Through our tailoring support initiative, young beneficiaries have received sewing machines, fabrics, and practical guidance to help them establish small tailoring enterprises. They can now produce clothing, repair garments, make school uniforms, and serve customers within their communities.
For young women, these opportunities can be particularly transformative. A tailoring business can provide a pathway toward financial independence while enabling women to contribute to household expenses and support children's education.
As enterprises grow, successful tailors can also create opportunities for apprentices and other young people.
Your support is therefore creating more than tailoring businesses. It is creating confidence, income, self-reliance, and hope.
Thank you for helping Development Alert transform vocational skills into sustainable livelihoods for young people in rural Uganda.
