Thanks to your generous support, Development Alert was able to provide school feeding assistance to vulnerable children in underserved communities.

For a child attending school without enough food, concentrating on lessons can be extremely difficult. Hunger can affect attendance, classroom participation, energy levels, and academic performance. Families experiencing severe financial hardship may struggle to provide consistent meals.

Through our school feeding intervention, Development Alert helps provide meals that enable children to remain in school during the learning day with greater comfort and dignity.

Teachers benefit from having learners who are more attentive and engaged, while parents receive some relief from the pressure of meeting daily food needs.

For children, the impact goes beyond the meal itself. Being provided with food at school tells them that their wellbeing matters and that their community believes in their education.

The intervention also complements our broader education activities, including school sponsorship and provision of scholastic materials.
