Poorly maintained or overflowing toilets can contaminate surrounding environments and increase the risk of infections and sanitation-related illnesses. Children who lack access to appropriate sanitation facilities may also struggle to maintain basic personal hygiene throughout the school day.
At Mwanyagiri Primary School, the existing toilet has become inadequate for the more than 500 pupils who depend on it daily. This situation has raised concerns about the health and safety of learners and school staff.
Constructing a new toilet will provide an important opportunity to improve sanitation management and create a safer school environment.
The project will also incorporate appropriate handwashing facilities and hygiene provisions to encourage proper sanitation practices among pupils.
Your support will contribute to reducing environmental health risks and establishing conditions that promote children's wellbeing.
By investing in school sanitation, we are investing in disease prevention, educational development and the future of the community.
