*BARRIERS TO EDUCATION: CHALLENGES FACED BY CHILDREN IN UGANDA*
At Gaba Hope For Kids, we're working to address the obstacles that prevent vulnerable children from accessing quality education.
*CHALLENGES IN EDUCATION*
- *Limited Access to Resources*: Many schools lack basic facilities, textbooks, and qualified teachers.
- *Poverty and Hunger*: Families struggle to afford school fees, uniforms, and meals, forcing children to drop out or miss school.
- *Gender Disparities*: Girls face unique challenges, including early marriage, pregnancy, and limited support.
- *Disability and Inclusion*: Children with disabilities often face inaccessible schools and lack of support.
- *Conflict and Displacement*: Children affected by conflict or displacement struggle to access education.
*STATISTICS*
- 1 in 3 children in Uganda are out of school (UNICEF)
- 50% of girls in rural areas are married by 18 (UNFPA)
- 1 in 5 children with disabilities attend school (Uganda Bureau of Statistics)
