Dear Supporters and Friends,
We are grateful to share an update on the Build Separate Toilets for Girls in Public Schools project. Donations have started coming in, and this encouragement means a lot to us. However, the amount raised so far is not enough to begin construction.
The need for this project is very clear. In many schools, girls are forced to share toilets with boys or have no functional toilets at all. This situation creates serious hygiene concerns, contributes to absenteeism during menstruation, and puts girls at risk of harassment. Having separate toilets is more than just a matter of comfort—it is a matter of dignity, safety, and keeping girls in school.
While the current funds cannot cover materials and labor, we remain hopeful that with continued support, the first construction phase will begin soon. We are preparing by identifying schools where the need is most urgent and consulting with local builders so we can move quickly once resources are available.
We look forward to sharing progress in our next report when we can begin turning this vision into a reality for schoolgirls.
With gratitude,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
