Congratulations to the Donors of “Build a Classroom, Save the Amazon”
Congratulations to all of you, our donors, because of your help we made the threshold goal of $5,000 and 40 unique donors. We are now a permanent part of GlobalGiving!
Our boarding students are at their respective homes this week [21 days on and 7 days off] but we cannot wait to tell them next week when they return that you helped us make our goal. In addition, we will also be able to tell this year’s day students the same success story when they start on 1 October 2014.
We still have almost $20,000 to raise to meet our finally goal to nable us to build both the classroom and the demonstration aquaponics farm – but now we can get started on both of these needed additions to the Yachana Training Center. Please continue to spread the word to your friends and family that you helped make this challenge a success and that they can help contribute to the large goal we need to achieve.
Before the boarding students left last Sunday [they have elected to call themselves “Yachana Future Builders or YFB] they did a few more chores around the training center. Class schedules are well established and there have had fun times practicing some new culinary techniques and celebrated with a pizza party with pizza they made themselves.
Next week when they return they will be writing a story from their perspective on what your donations mean to them and their futures. I promise to post this as soon as possible with more pictures of them in action.
Thank you again and know that your efforts to contribute are making a significant difference in the lives and futures of the students at Yachana.
