Girl Impact Centre - empowering girls

By Michelle Procter | Executive Director

Our hot, dusty location for girl impact classes
Our hot, dusty location for girl impact classes

It’s been a while since we’ve been in touch with you about the Girl Impact centre. The pandemic slowed us down but it did not stop us from making our impact!

You generously donated to our Girl Impact Centre in Livingstone. I’ve always been excited about how the centre will provide much-needed health and empowerment services for girls. Through the pandemic, we purchased the land (as slow as it was!) and have made plans for a temporary centre for all our workshops. We are incredibly grateful for your support in getting us to this stage!

To survive the challenges bought by the pandemic, the African Impact Foundation adapted by becoming more specialized and focused. Our vision is to equip young people, especially girls, with the skills and resources so they can build a brighter future. Livingstone became our place to focus, learn and expand from. We have a fantastic partnership with the community and are privileged to work with amazing young people who are driven to do their best!

We realised how a centre that supports all young people, focusing on girls, will be even more impactful. Our Youth Community Centre focuses on gender equality + education + health and wellness + university application support + skills training + recreation. A jam-packed space of services and support! I am currently in Livingstone and seeing the challenges and impact first-hand and why this safe place for young people is urgently needed.

We'd love to keep you updated on our stories of impact here - http://eepurl.com/dj8UOP

Your interest and support mean so much to us. People like you enable much-needed change to happen, especially for girls.

With gratitude,

Michelle Procter
Executive Director
