Dear supporter,

The Youth Community Center Is About to Begin! We’re beyond excited to share some incredible news: construction on the Youth Community Center is FINALLY about to begin! After months of preparation, the final paperwork is being sorted, materials are being purchased, and our team on the ground is getting ready to kick off the building work in the next four weeks. We cannot wait to show you all the progress as the walls go up and our vision comes to life! This long-awaited milestone brings us one step closer to creating a safe, supportive space where young people can learn, grow, and build brighter futures.

Volunteer Impact at the Youth Community Center Recently, we were thrilled to host a visit from a group of partner volunteers, and their contributions have made a lasting impact. Their efforts went into both improving the outdoor space and laying the foundation for engaging, skill-building activities for the youth. Here’s what they helped accomplish:

  • Eco-Friendly Seating & Green Spaces Eco-benches built from recycled materials now circle the trees on-site, offering shaded seating for lessons and workshops.
  • Chairs and benches were freshly painted, providing children with proper seats instead of floor mats. Fruit trees were planted around the grounds to promote healthy eating and beautify the area.

Open land was cleared of weeds to create future spaces for recreation and sports, helping to keep youth engaged in positive activities after school. These enhancements not only make the space more functional and inviting but also align with our environmental values and long-term vision of a sustainable, safe learning hub. A dedicated on-site caretaker, along with the youth and community, will continue to maintain these spaces moving forward.

Supplies That Will Go a Long Way

The volunteer group also donated an incredible range of supplies that will benefit the Youth Community Center and several other Foundation projects: Education materials: Hundreds of pens, pencils, rulers, glue sticks, and more for classroom use. Creative resources: Colouring books, notebooks, card games, and bracelet kits for art and play-based learning. Sports gear: Enough equipment and matching football jerseys to launch a youth football team once the center opens. Hygiene supplies: Toothbrushes, soap, menstrual products (both reusable and disposable), and other essentials. These will be distributed during lessons on menstrual health through our Girl Impact program. Currently, all donated items are safely stored at the African Impact Foundation office. Once the Center opens, these resources will support everything from formal learning sessions to creative play, sports, and personal well-being.

Looking Ahead

Each contribution, whether time, materials, or funding,  is bringing us closer to opening the doors of the Youth Community Center. This space will offer so much more than bricks and benches; it will be a hub of opportunity, empowerment, and transformation for generations of youth. From all of us at the African Impact Foundation, thank you for helping make this dream a reality.

Stay tuned, we’ll be sharing photos and updates as soon as the building begins!

Warm regards,

The African Impact Team
