Thank you for supporting this construction!

By Debra aka Brique Zeiner | Chairwoman

The children, staff, and parents at the Live and Learn in Kenya Education Center are so thrilled with their new dining / multi-purpose hall! The sturdy construction of the huge hall with its tiled floor, bright and clean walls and the furniture that is being built piece by piece for it gives the children a sense of really being "normal" and not just some forgotten slum kids. And that's the way life should be. No child should be put in a situation where they feel that they are no more than animals begging for food. In this clean and hygienic atmosphere, the children are able to eat their wholesome and delicious meals and fruit and drink fresh milk - and even celebrate birthdays with cake or sweets or ice cream!

The groups of mamas who take turns cooking the meals for hundreds of children every day, six days a week are so motivated and happy. The clean and hygienic kitchen that is attached to the dining hall is a meeting place for the mamas who sing and talk as they happily cook the meals and serve them to the children.

At the end of the hall is a nice big stage where the children are able to perform the songs and dances that they have learned and where workshops and discussions are held for both children and parents. Adorning the wall behind the stage is a huge and original painting by the very popular French artist Patrick Moya. The Live and Learn in Kenya International project is very close to Moya's heart and he gladly created the painting for the children with his famous and well-loved characters.

Asante sana- thank you so much for your brilliant support.
